Racial Harmony Day' 08

Schools commemorate Racial Harmony Day on 21st July. On this day in 1964, Singapore saw racial riots. Racial Harmony Day serves to remind our pupils that social division costs us dearly and that race and religion are potential fault-lines in Singapore society. It is a day for schools to reflect on, and celebrate our success as a harmonious nation and society built on a rich diversity of cultures and heritages.
Adapted from http://www.ne.edu.sg/

This year, our school celebrated Racial Harmony Day with a theme titled Festival - Colours of Harmony.
“The Pioneers – Colours of Traditions and History” is exemplified by the 4 stars with 4 different colours attached to a bigger 5th star as the base. The 4 stars will represent the rich cultures of the 4 different races, identifying different contribution with a similar cause in pioneering Singapore. The 5th red and white star will reflect the mother land of Singapore."
Hope everyone in the school had fun commemorating this special day.
Check out if you had been caught in action on this very special day.
